After graduating City College of New York in 1980 with Bachelors in Electrical Engineering degree, Steve Pickei relocated from New York to California to start his career working for Xerox Microelectronics Center in El Segundo California as a design engineer in VLSI technology. After 6 years working at Xerox in design, technology development, and the production of Integrated Circuits, Steve accepted a position at Teledyne Electronics in the Thousand Oaks designing Secondary Radar Systems for military aircraft. Steve then transitioned into a role involving higher level responsibilities working with the Prime Contractor and the Air Force as an Integrated Logistics Engineer. After 4 years at Teledyne, Steve applied his experience in semiconductor technology and military applications to take a position with Motorola as a Technical Sales Engineer supporting component sales for military programs for first tier accounts in Southern California. After 4 years in Sales, Steve transitioned into a technical role supporting distribution accounts and was promoted to manager responsible for leading a team to develop new business infrastructure, process improvement, and customer support projects. After 11 years at Motorola, Steve acquired his PMP certification and has been working as a Project Manager in the Health Care industries for Health Net and Wellpoint.



Doug McAvoy

Doug has over 30 years of project management experience in the business of creating, testing and deploying the ships and weapon systems of the US Navy. He is a founding member of the Channel Islands Chapter of the American Society of Naval Engineers, a founding member of the Gold Coast Chapter of the International Test & Evaluation Association, and a founding member of Los Padres Chapter of PMI. Doug is also a member of the IEEE, ASQ, and the Engineering Management Society. He has always had a very broad and active interest in the history and art and science of project management. He has studied and used just about every technical process invented for project planning and execution. Doug has acquired practical experience as well as attended many courses in appraisal, supervision, management, leadership, and self-evaluation. He has been an elected officer of the Los Padres Chapter since its creation. Occasionally he gets to work on his Garden Railway.


Ella Anastasiu

VP of Operations

Ella Anastasiu has 2 decades of experience in various fields of Information Technology and Business such as ERP/CRM design and implementation, Program Management, System/Application Development, Database Administration, and eBusiness. She managed large Technology programs predominately in Aerospace and Defense industry as well as PMO and Operations teams in Media and Finance Industry.
Currently a Project Director for the WellPoint organization, Ella manages large regional and enterprise programs/projects in the Healthcare industry.
Ella holds an MBA, a Masters Degree in Information Technology and she is PMP certified.
